Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine-receptor blocker. It increases oesophageal peristalsis, lower oesophageal sphincter pressure, gastric motility and peristalsis, and enhances gastroduodenal coordination, thereby facilitating gastric emptying and decreasing small bowel transit time.
